Workshop description:
Sure, those movements are lovely, but where’s that energy?

One of the most important aspects of performance, whether it be dance, music or sculpture is the energy in which you send to your audience members. Where does this energy come from? How do you sustain it, and most of all, how do you connect it to your audience? This workshop will challenge dancers to take that extra step and tap into that energy which makes a lasting effect on audience members and leaves that powerful sense of reverberation in the theater. We will investigate those moments of connection through combinations and exercises designed to explore the energy and strength of strong visual lines and the idea of opposition, as well as the importance of personality, presence and sauciness. We will also examine specific body isolations, as well as pop and lock accentuations, specifically focusing on the head and upper body. Be prepared for a little Flamenco twist.

Cait will also be performing at TEMPLE on October 24th, so read on for all the details!
